Recruiting & Retention is hosting its semiannual OCS Work Shop at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. If you’re highly motivated, physically active and eager to lead then OCS may be an option for you.  This Work Shop will prepare you for the OCS application process and you will work closely with your region OIC who will assist you.  If you’re currently in the TXARNG please coordinate with your readiness NCO to sign up and inform your region OIC of your attendance.

Officer Candidate School (OCS) is a great way to enhance your leadership and management skills. OCS is open to most college students who meet OCS college hour requirements and recent graduates who desire a challenging management position in one of sixteen career fields. These motivated individuals earn their commission through the Officer Candidate School for service in the Texas Army National Guard. Your commission is transferable should you wish to join Active Duty or the Reserves after you've completed your National Guard commitment.

MOS 09S OPTION


 

If you are currently not in the National Guard or are prior service and are interested in becoming an officer then 09S may be an option. O9S is a specific MOS that is used by the National Guard to identify those who are joining the TXARNG for the purposes of becoming an officer. To qualify for this enlistment applicant must meet the minimum 60 college hour requirement and other details apply. Please contact your local Texas Army National Guard enlisted recruiter to apply as a 09S and start enjoying the benefits the Guard has to offer.

Benefits of OCS

- Up to $50K paid for student loans (Applicable to 09S ONLY)

- $4500 State Tuition Assistance

- $4500 Federal Tuition Assistance

- Up to $366 per weekend as a 2LT

- $350 ARNG GI Bill Kicker (Applicable up to 90 days after commissioning)
