Values
Guard Soldiers are motivated by a desire to serve. From the Hurricane Katrina response to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Texas National Guard Soldiers serve with honor. Our dual mission to support the country and the local community means that the President of the United States and the Governor of Texas both count on Guard Soldiers to be Always Ready, Always There.
All Soldiers strive to uphold the values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. This code of conduct is followed on and off the battlefield, in uniform and in civilian life.
Camaraderie
Loyalty is listed first among the core Army values for good reason. Beyond the country and the Army as a whole, Soldiers stand up for their unit and each other. There is a camaraderie among fellow Soldiers that often lasts a lifetime and is a frequently cited as a primary reason for re-enlisting.
